First off, I just want to say how much I love the town we moved to from Indiana. Walworth, Wi has the hometown feel my family has been looking for since we moved to Wisconsin 4 years ago. With just a few years in, I feel at home here. I see the same familiar faces everywhere I go… the grocery store, the little shops, the Dari Ripple…annnnd that’s about all you have here. ;)
What I’ve been loving most lately is seeing those same faces at weddings that I’ve been invited to be a part of. It’s so cool that I have past and future brides in attendance at almost every wedding I shoot. It really hit me hard at Ben and Sam’s wedding. Word of mouth has been huge, and it blows my mind all of the time how just a few people who hired me, started this whole thing. I really would not be here if it wasn’t for each of my wonderful couples, and I’m so beyond appreciative for everything!
I’m so happy that Samantha and Ben are from my little town. They are high school sweethearts who started off as friends, and she soon was wearing his number 55 jersey to all of his high school football games. Now, if you’re not familiar with Big Foot Football, let me tell ya, I can hear the crowd yelling from my house every fall. It’s kind of a big deal around here.
Flash forward a few years after high school. Ben took Samantha to breakfast at Egg Harbor. They rarely go in to Lake Geneva, so Sam knew something was up. He took her down to the pier after dinner, and didn’t say a word. She knew what was going on. Still, silence. She finally said, “sooo, do you wanna go?” and he said, “do you wanna do this?” as he was holding the ring. It’s so sweet how he was so nervous proposing after all those years of dating.
I hope you enjoy the look back on the start of their lives as husband and wife…
